Our early history starts in 1918. In that year, the Dutch government stimulated its embassies to further strengthen the international trade networks. This resulted in the establishment of several international Chambers of Commerce, one of which was the Austrian - Dutch Chamber of Commerce. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the path to establishing similar entities in Central and Eastern Europe was opened.
In 1991 several international Chambers of Commerce in Central and Eastern Europe took the initiative to join forces. This agreement lead to offering services on a commercial base and to the establishment of EUNITE. A professional organisation in The Hague (Netherlands) and represented in almost all Central and Eastern European countries.
